There's something about a girls' trip built around doing absolutely nothing you don't want to do.
No rushing between sightseeing stops, no packed itinerary, and no pressure to be productive. Just a few days to catch up with friends, enjoy beautiful surroundings, book a great spa treatment, and maybe take a Pilates class if you're feeling ambitious.
The trick is choosing somewhere that works for everyone.
Some friends want a full schedule of fitness classes and outdoor activities. Others want a massage, a long lunch, and an afternoon by the pool.
These five luxury wellness getaways offer enough variety that everyone can enjoy the trip in their own way, without feeling like they have to follow the same schedule.
What Makes a Great Wellness Girls' Trip?
The best wellness trips aren't necessarily the ones with the most structured schedules. They're the ones where everyone has options.
I love properties where you can meet for breakfast, split up for a few hours of spa treatments, fitness classes, or time by the pool, and come back together for dinner.
You want enough activities to keep everyone happy without turning the weekend into another schedule you have to manage.
The right property depends on group size, where everyone is flying in from, and what "wellness" means to you and your friends. For some groups it means a hike and a massage. For others it means a fitness class and a very long lunch. Here are five places I'd start, and who each one suits.

Arizona: Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa
Sanctuary works for a group that wants wellness to be part of the trip without taking over the itinerary. Mornings can start with a sunrise stretch class overlooking Camelback Mountain, followed by breakfast and a few hours at the spa. Outdoor treatment rooms and a meditation garden make it easy to slow down, while hiking and biking give the more active people in your group something to do beyond the treatment room.
Sanctuary is a great choice for friends who want a quieter desert escape with beautiful views and a strong spa experience.
I'd recommend it to a group that wants wellness to be part of the trip without feeling like they're attending a formal retreat. You can spend the morning hiking or taking a fitness class, book treatments in the afternoon, and still have plenty of time to relax together.
If your group is looking for a lively nightlife scene or wants to walk between restaurants and bars, I'd choose a different property.
California: Terranea Resort
Terranea is the right choice when your group can't agree on what a wellness weekend should be. The resort covers 102 acres of Southern California coastline, which matters because it gives people room to separate without feeling split up. One person can book a massage or a Pilates class while someone else goes kayaking or heads out on a cliffside hike. Everyone then comes back together for meals, drinks, and time by the water to discuss their day's adventure.
Terranea is especially good for groups with different interests. Some friends can spend the morning at the spa while others go kayaking, hiking, or exploring the coastline.
The tradeoff is that it's a large resort, so it doesn't have the intimate feel of a smaller wellness property. But for a group that wants plenty of options and beautiful ocean views, that can actually be an advantage.

Pennsylvania: The Lodge At Woodloch
The Lodge at Woodloch is one of my favorite recommendations for a wellness-focused getaway, especially for friends traveling from the East Coast.
What makes it special is the variety of experiences available throughout the day. Guests can choose from fitness classes, yoga, meditation, outdoor adventures, cooking demonstrations, creative workshops, and spa treatments.
There are plenty of scheduled activities, but you're not required to participate in any of them. You can fill your day with classes or spend the afternoon reading by the pool. That's what makes it work so well for a group with different interests.
The all-inclusive format is another advantage. Meals and many activities are included, so there's less coordination and fewer decisions to make once everyone arrives.
I'd recommend Woodloch to friends who genuinely want a wellness-focused trip with lots of options, but still want the freedom to create their own schedule.

Utah: Montage Deer Valley
Montage Deer Valley is for groups that want wellness alongside a mountain trip. In winter, you can ski in the morning and recover at the spa in the afternoon. In warmer months, days can center on hiking before heading back for a fitness class, a swim, or a treatment. With a mind-body movement studio, an indoor lap pool, and 29 treatment rooms, there's plenty of space for everyone to build downtime into the day without the spa dominating the schedule.
Montage Deer Valley is a great option for friends who want to combine wellness with a mountain getaway.
In winter, that might mean skiing in the morning and spa treatments in the afternoon. In summer and fall, the focus shifts to hiking, outdoor activities, and enjoying the mountains at a slower pace.
If wellness and relaxation are the main priorities, I'd personally lean toward the warmer months, when the resort feels less centered around skiing.

Florida: Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa
Eau Palm Beach is for the group that wants the wellness weekend but still wants it to feel fun. The resort sits on seven acres of private Palm Beach coastline, and the spa goes well beyond a standard massage. Your group can take part in a wishing well ritual, try a sand treatment with singing bowls, or create personalized blends together at the Scrub & Polish Bar. Those experiences turn spa time into something you do together, rather than everyone disappearing into separate treatment rooms for the afternoon.

Eau Palm Beach is the one I'd choose for a group that wants the spa experience to feel a little more social and celebratory.
You can spend the morning enjoying treatments, have lunch together, and still have the afternoon to relax by the ocean.
It's a particularly good choice for birthdays, milestone celebrations, or a girls' weekend where the goal is simply to relax and have fun together.
How to Plan a Wellness Girls' Trip Without Doing All the Work
A wellness getaway sounds relaxing until you're the person trying to coordinate everyone's schedules, room preferences, spa appointments, and dinner reservations.
That's where planning ahead makes a big difference.
For groups, I always recommend booking the most important spa treatments before arrival, especially if several people want appointments around the same time.
I'd also avoid scheduling every hour. Leave room for spontaneous lunches, time by the pool, and afternoons when everyone can do their own thing.
At Alo Travels, we can help coordinate the hotel, room arrangements, spa reservations, and other details so the trip feels like a vacation for everyone, including the person who usually ends up organizing everything.
The best wellness getaway isn't necessarily the one with the longest spa menu or the most fitness classes. It's the one where everyone can enjoy the trip in their own way.
